My current research interests broadly focus on the interplay of motivational and cognitive processes. Our laboratory is currently focusing on self-handicapping among stigmatized groups, including those lower in SES, women in STEM, and first-generation college students. Other areas of research include: feedback in affective computing, defensiveness in groups, procrastination, self-compassion, self-control, and legal decision-making.
